How to Set Time and Program CLACK WS1 3 button ValveUpdated a day ago
If you need a quick, straightforward guide on setting the time and programming a Clack WS1 3-button valve, you’re in the right place.
Whether it’s attached to a water softener, iron filter, sediment filter, or carbon filter, this video covers the essentials. The 3-button model—also known as the TC or time clock valve—differs from the 4- and 5-button versions by using time-based regeneration rather than tracking actual water usage.
These valves are ideal for backwashing filters like Nextsand or carbon systems for chlorine removal. If you purchased your system from us, the programming has already been done—you’ll just need to set the time, backwash frequency, and regeneration time. For those retrofitting or applying it to a new system, we’ll also walk through how to access and adjust deeper settings. Plus, we’ll show you where to find the built-in manual—either behind the faceplate or via QR code, depending on your model.

To Change Programming:
Press SET HOUR and UP simultaneously for 3 seconds, release, then repeat once more.
Use the UP or DOWN arrows to select your desired program (P0 to P9).
If selecting P0–P6: enter the fill time in minutes.
If selecting P7–P9: press SET HOUR to proceed to fill time.
Note: Each minute of fill time adds 0.5 gallons of water to the solution tank. With salt, this equates to ~1.5 lbs of salt per minute.
Use arrows to choose a regeneration frequency (1–99 days or 7-day setting), then press SET HOUR.
Continue pressing SET HOUR until you return to the main screen showing the current time.
